PRESBYTERY

The presbytery is of primary importance to your Summit experience. This page is designed to help you understand its purpose and what to expect.

In Acts 14:23, the Apostle Paul appoints presbyters, or elders, within established churches. While the WIML team is not ordaining you into a specific ministry leadership role, we are affirming and confirming God’s calling on your life through a similar process of prayer and fasting, modeled after the early church. The WIML presbytery is a set-apart time for each cohort participant to receive focused prophetic ministry from seasoned, trusted, and experienced ministry leaders.

come prepared.

First and foremost, come to this session with an open heart and a ready mind. You will also want to ensure you can record on your cell phone; if not, please arrange for a friend to assist you.

the process.

Our team’s approach is relational and conversational, creating a relaxed and welcoming environment. Ministry often feels like a thoughtful conversation as team members share what they sense the Lord is speaking to your heart and life.

When it is not your turn, you are prayerfully engaging and listening to the words spoken to your new friends! If you have a prophetic word or scripture, please write it down and give it to the person later.

Each community group will participate in two afternoon presbytery sessions. Half of the group will receive ministry on Tuesday afternoon, and the other half on Wednesday afternoon. When it is your turn, you will be asked to sit in a designated seat, at which point the presbytery team will begin ministering to you.

You ultimately discern and confirm whether the words you receive during this ministry time resonate with you. We have also found it helpful to have your community group and coach present, as they have walked closely with you over the past six months and can help affirm what is being shared.
